The para-soccer tournament opened with the match of Anambra team against Borno para-soccer players.
Despite some of Anambra team participants played foul, infringing on their Borno counterparts as pictured above, Borno won with a huge score 8-0.

‘Virgin Mary’ has reportedly appeared on the freshly-painted living room wall of a family in Coahuila, Mexico.
Devout Catholics have been flocking to the family’s home, amid claims that the image bears a resemblance to the Virgin of Guadalupe, an iconic picture housed in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in Mexico City, Mexico.
The basilica holds the record of the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world, and the world’s third most-visited sacred landmark.
Mirror UK reports that the image appeared in the home of Luis Alberto Montelongo Reyes, in the Loma Linda area of Saltillo, a town in Coahuila city.

Video: Majek Fashek's First Performance After Rehab At Felabration 2015

Popular reggae singer Majek Fashek reportedly made a surprise appearance at the recently concluded Felabration 2015, after he left the Abuja Rehabilitation Center last month.According to reports, he was looking healthier as he performed some of his hit songs including the one that earned him the ‘Rainmaker’ title.
While performing on stage, Majek was later joined by Yeni Kuti, and Femi Kuti, who lent the power of his sax to the performance, and left the audience screaming for more.

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday, October 20, set up a high powered Board of Inquiry (BOI) to investigate alleged malpractices and involvement of its personnel in the 2014 gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun states , Premium Times reports
This is contained in a statement issued by the acting Director, Army Public Relations Col. Sani Usman, in Abuja.
But the spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Sani Usman, said that the board would investigate the alleged unprofessional and unethical conduct of some Nigerian Army personnel during the two elections.

260km Super Highway Project: Buhari launches, pledges speedy completion

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday launched the 260-kilometre Calabar-Kastina-Ala Super Highway road project at Obung, Cross River.
The President expressed the hope that the road would create a new vista of business opportunities for Cross River and the nation at large while launching the project.
Buhari commended Governor Ben Ayade for his vision and foresight in conceptualising the project.

“So, I must at this juncture commend the state governor, Sen. Ben Ayade and his team for their foresight in conceptualising this project.
“Given the multiplier effect these two laudable projects are expected to generate, in terms of aggregate spinoffs, I want to assure you of my determination and as well as the commitment of the Federal Government to ensuring that this road and indeed the seaport runs to a quick completion.

He said: “No more Eagles career! After five great years, I am happy to announce that I have put full-stop to my national team career for the sake of national peace.”

This past weekend, Crack detectives foiled attempt by some armed robbers to blow up and rob one of the old generation banks in Ondo State by digging an underground tunnel into the premises.

It was gathered that the gang, had dug over 15 meters into the bank premises from the fence which is behind the bank at Alagbaka area where it is located in Akure metropolice.
Vanguard discovered that the tunnel was able to contain three persons at a time, while the place from where the hoodlums operated, is isolated from other buildings.
It was gathered that the tunnel would have been dug into the banking hall if it had not been discovered by the detectives.

Richard Odiwe, a 71-year-old physically-challenged man, has reportedly been apprehended for allegedly raping a primary six pupil, Bimbo (not actual name).
It was learnt by PUNCH Metro that Bimbo, who lives with her grandmother in Ago-Alagbede in the Agbado area of Ogun State, fled home last Tuesday around 5.30am after she was told that an uncle wanted to beat her for her unruly behaviour.
Odiwe was said to have harboured the 12-year-old girl in his residence at Atila, a neighbouring community, where he committed the alleged crime.

Nnamdi Kanu of Radio Biafra Granted Bail

Director of Radio Biafra and Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, who was arrested at Golden Tulip Essential Hotel, Ikeja, on Saturday, has been granted bail.
Although, he is yet to fulfill his bail conditions. IPOB’s lawyer, Mr. Egechukwu Obetta lamented that Nnamdi Kanu was put in the same cell with terrorists despite his life threatening health challenges. He said Kanu is selective to delicacies, adding that he (Kanu) vowed never to eat any food served by the Federal Government of Nigeria. However, midway into the chat with his lawyer, a call came in, indicating that Kanu has been granted bail in the sum of N2 million or with surety of N2 million with a civil servant of grade level 16. Vanguard reports that Obetta further said that “Last week, the Afenifere threatened to secede but nobody was vilified. I am talking about the recent Olu Falae’s kidnap case. The militants in the Niger Delta has done same.”

Oscar Pistorius Freed from prison last night

Oscar Pistorius was freed from prison late last night having served just 12 months of a five-year sentence for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The Paralympian, 28, is now at his uncle’s mansion where he will see out the rest of the term under house arrest. His lawyer Brian Webber confirmed the release and said: “He is at home already.” He will be required to meet Steenkamp’s parents Barry and June “if and when they agree to meet him”, said correctional services minister Michael Masutha.
