Women Like HID Awolowo Are Needed In Nigeria - Aisha Buhari

Wife of Nigeria’s president, Hajia Aisha Buhari, has said that the country needs good and honest women like the late Mrs Hannah Awolowo, Vanguard reports.
Hajia Buhari was in Ikenne, the hometown of Awolowo to pay homage to the family over the death of the matriarch of the family on Wednesday, October 21.
She was accompanied by wife of the Vice-President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, former deputy governor of Plateau state, Pauline Tallen , Judith Amaechi wife of the former governor of River state, among others.Mrs. Buhari was received by the eldest child of Awolowo, Omotola Oyediran and some grand children of the Awolowos.
President Buhari’s wife in her remarks described the death of mama Awolowo as sad, noting, she was informed of the planned centenary celebration for the first time when she visited mama during the elections.
She said: “We pray for the family, we pray for Mama, may her soul rest in perfect peace and may God give the family strength to bear the loss, because, it is a great loss to the nation. She is the type of a woman that Nigeria needs, she was a backbone of the family”.
The eldest daughter of mama, Omotola Oyediran while welcoming the wife of the president and her entourage, assured her of support from the Awolowo family to her husband’s government, saying, the family was overwhelmed with the her.
