Akwa Ibom Police Command has nabbed 63 suspected cult members during an initiation ceremony in Akwa Ibom State.
The group who are members of the Black Axe cult group were caught on Sunday at Effoi village forest very close to Eket.

Governor Amaechi Denies Owing Duncan Mighty N50m



A few weeks ago, Singer, Duncan Mighty accused Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State of owing him N50million – a balance of the money he charged the Governor for a Youth Endorsement Concert in March, 2011.
In a long open letter made available to DailyPost, Duncan Mighty called out to the Governor, asking him to pay him for the services he has rendered to him and his government. In the letter, he stated that he was paid only N10million after executing the project instead of N60million initially agreed upon.
Governor Rotimi Amaechi through his Commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari has reacted to the report.

US Places $5m Bounty For Leader Of Boko Haram Faction, Ansaru


The United States (US) Department of State’s Rewards for Justice Programme has offered rewards for information on four terrorists operating in Western and Northern Africa, including Khalid al-Barnawi, reportedly a leader of the Nigeria-based terrorist group known as Ansaru.
Secretary of State, John Kerry, during the week announced rewards of up to $5 million each for information leading to the location of Khalid al-Barnawi, Hamad el Khairy, and Ahmed el Tilemsi, as well as a reward of up to $3 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Abu-Yusuf al-Muhajir.
Barnawi is reportedly a leader of the Nigeria-based terrorist group known as Ansaru, and is a former Senior member of the Boko Haram terrorist organisation.

Eden Hazard To Sign New Chelsea Contract



Belgium and Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has opened talks with his club regarding a new contract. The former Lille man has reportedly moved a step closer to agreeing a four year contract this morning.
Chelsea have already opened talks with the Belgian and, despite suggestions that Jose Mourinho was unhappy with the performances from the youngster during the past season, the club are now ready to offer him a fresh contract.

Hazard told reporters: "I am staying at Chelsea, 100 percent. There is nothing more to say -- everything is clear. Of course in football you never know, but I am under contract with Chelsea and I want to stay there -- the rumors exist to sell newspapers. Moreover, I am in discussions with Chelsea for a new contract.

BREAKING: Gombe State Governor's House Bombed!



Governor Ibrahim Dakwambo’s private house, which also serves as his official residence was bombed in a late afternoon attack in Gombe today. The bomb blast attack, according to Sahara Reporters targeted a Police Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) that was stationed in front of his house. The bombing also touched-off multiple explosions and had rocked the district where the governor resides.

No casualties or fatalities at this time. The Liaison Officer to Gombe State in Abuja confirmed the attack to Sahara Reporters over the phone.

APC tells PDP: Stop seeing Boko Haram as conspiracy against your government


The interim national Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed has advised the PDP-led federal government to forget the thought that Boko Haram is a grand conspiracy against it.
According the him, the sooner government sees the sect as an enemy of the world, the better for national peace and stability.
Speaking yesterday at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) students’ week in Lagos, Mohammed said APC believes that only a non-partisan approach can help the country to forge a common front against Boko Haram, “hence we offered our hand of support to the government which by the way, is yet to respond to our offer. Borno: Communities in GWOZA takes arms against each other over Boko Haram, 100 killed in religious crises


Attagara, Aghapalwa and one other community in Goza Local Government Council of Borno State, South of the North-East Nigeria, have been thrown into confusion following a religious crisis which broke out against Christians and Muslims in the area.
It would be recalled that no fewer than 9 Christian worshipers were killed last Sunday by the Boko Haram Islamic militants during a Sunday service in Attagara village, leaving many others critically injured.
According to reports, the youths in a spontaneous reprisal attack mobilized themselves and went after the terrorists killing 37 of them.

Diego Costa Passes Chelsea Medical Ahead Of A Proposed £35m Move


Diego Costa has completed a medical at Chelsea and is now on the verge of completing a €43 million [£35m] move from Atletico Madrid.

Goal revealed early last month that a deal worth £75m, including transfer fee and salary, was finalized at a meeting in London less than 24 hours after Costa's penalty helped Atletico Madrid to eliminate the Blues from the Champions League.

The Brazil-born striker, who is a member of the Spain squad preparing for the World Cup, has long been identified by Mourinho as the player to provide a more regular supply of goals than Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto’o and Demba Ba were able to contribute last season.

Chelsea will pay around €43m for the striker, although a significant portion of the transfer fee includes agents' fees.

Chelsea Reportedly Agree Terms With Former Gunner Cesc Fabregas




Chelsea have reportedly agreed on a deal to sign Barcelona midfield star Cesc Fabregas, according to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The Blues have made the swift move for the former Arsenal man, following the departure of legendary midfield Frank Lampard on a free transfer.
