Adidas Drops Teyana Taylor Over Rihanna Beef

It was back in September when Teyana Taylor and Rihanna had an all-out Twitter war, which involved both parties changing their Twitter AVI and banners to reflect the beef , not to mention getting backed by their respective fan bases. While it seems like awhile ago, apparently the effects of it are still being felt, at least for Teyana, as the G.O.O.D singer was recently dropped from adidas reportedly because of the beef.
The beef between the two singers all started when Rih Rih decided, for apparently no reason at all, to make fun of Teyana’s rendition of “Caught In The Rapture” on Instagram. The two exchanged words and more on Twitter, with it ending after Teyana called Rihanna a cyber bully. While the beef never turned physical, adidas still seemed to think it was a good enough reason to drop Teyana.
Teyana was supposed to release an adidas sneaker for Black Friday, and rumors started swirling that she’d been dropped when the shoe never surfaced. A rep for Teyana originally denied that the partnership was over (“Teyana has not been dropped, the sneaker is on hold, no other comments or statement is ready to be issued at this time.”), but adidas has since confirmed that it is over.
Speaking to Madame Noire, a rep for adidas said,
“We have ended our relationship with Teyana Taylor and do not have any upcoming product launches with her. All I can say is that adidas partner with athletes and artists who blend well with our brand values. We evaluate our relationships with partners based on the values we hold at adidas and we don’t condone violence of any kind.”
We wouldn’t really consider that beef “violent” and Rihanna was the instigator…but okay.
