The 11-year old girl that was set ablaze by her mistress, Mrs Nkese Iroakazi, a nurse in Surulere, Lagos is dead.
The young girl, Ita Bassey-Eno, was set ablaze by her madam last Saturday at 7, Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, and was in the throes of death due to the severe burns she suffered.
Although her mistress, a staff nurse at an undisclosed hospital in Surulere, denied the allegation at the authorities station, the ailing girl had managed to convey that her madam poured kerosene on her before striking a stick of matches to set her on fire.
Ita had rushed out of the apartment with fire on her, apparently in an attempt to plunge into a gutter.
Unfortunately, she fell before she could get to the gutter.
One of the residents was said to own succeeded in putting out the fire with the assistance of a fire extinguisher, before Ita was rushed to the hospital.
