The registration finally put to rest speculations that Soludo, who contested the governorship slot of the state in 2010 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, was going to join APGA.
But the speculation about a plot by Governor Peter Obi and Chief Victor Umeh, the National Chairman of thr APGA, to hand Soludo the candidacy of APGA had not been confirmed or denied yet.

The rumour mill became active about Soludo’s plan to leave the PDP last week when he failed to pick the Expression of Interest form of the PDP in Abuja.
A few days later, Soludo was reported to have praised Obi to high heavens and had begged the governor not to quit politics yet.
But by the beginning of the week, it was also speculated that Soludo had been jointly endorsed by Obi and Umeh to fly their party’s flag, just before Obi and Umeh reconciled at the Government House, Awka, on Monday.
Government House, Awka was yet to react to the reports linking the governor with a Soludo candidacy of APGA.
Obi and Umeh had fallen out last year when Umeh, against Obi’s position, decided to support the governorship aspiration of oil magnate, Ifeanyi Ubah.
The reconciliation of Obi and Umeh came a few weeks after Ubah fell out with Umeh and moved over to the Labour Party.
Soludo, who arrived his hometown, Isuofia, Wednesday evening registered at the APGA Isuofia ward and was received by a large crowd of APGA supporters.
In a letter of resignation to  the PDP, signed by Soludo, and addressed to the National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, dated July 17 2013, Soludo said, “This is to convey my resignation as a member of the PDP with effect from today.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank the party for the opportunity given to me to serve it in some capacity.”
