WOW!!!: 9 Year Old Girl Youngest Chess Prodigy

Youngest Chess Expert Carissa Yip

Youngest Chess Expert Carissa Yip

Hehehe...when will they start doing "ten ten" championship in Nigeria so which our 9-year-old girls can also show their skills? Just saying...

On a more severe note, this young girl is Carissa Yip and in just 36 months, she has moved from being a regular learner of the overall game of chess to being  an expert at a younger age than anyone since the U.S chess federation began electronic record-keeping in 1991.

She's been called a scary player in a ironic way, because she's far in short supply of even 5 feet tall.

Her father, Percy, who taught her until she began beating him in just a year, said she could reach master level in as soon as a year. “Some never reach master level,” he said. “From expert to master, it is a huge jump.”

But she also set an objective for herself this year to reach the master level and also to at least one day, become the very first female to win the general championship.

Way to go girl, this really is just your kick off point!
